Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Jollo collects when you use our apps and website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect what we need to run rides, payments, charging and driving — and nothing to sell.

01Who we are

Jollo EV Mobility (“Jollo”, “we”, “us”) operates the Jollo rider app, the Jollo Driver app and this website. We decide how and why your personal data is used, which makes us the controller of that data.

Questions about this policy or your data go to support@jolloev.com.

02What this policy covers

  • Jollo (com.jollo.customer) — for riders: rides, charging, Jollo Pay and EV ownership.
  • Jollo Driver (com.jollo.driver) — for drivers, including Drive to Earn and Drive to Own.
  • jolloev.xyz — this website, which has no sign-in and sets no tracking cookies.

03The data we collect

Everyone with an account

  • Account details: your name, phone number and email address (at least one of the two is needed to sign in), and optionally your date of birth.
  • Sign-in and security: one-time codes we send you, a password if you set one, failed sign-in attempts, and a security key created on your phone that identifies your device (the private part never leaves the phone). We also record your device type and app version.
  • Profile: a profile photo if you add one, your language, and saved places such as home or work.
  • Notifications: a push notification token for your device, and which notifications you have chosen to receive.
  • Support: the messages you send us and our replies, and any rating you give the app.

When you ride

  • Trip details: pickup and drop-off points and their addresses, distance, duration, ride type, the fare you offered, the prices drivers sent, the driver you chose, the fare agreed, your pickup PIN, and cancellations with their reason.
  • Location: your phone's location when you use the app, to set your pickup point and show nearby chargers. The rider app does not track your location in the background.
  • Messages and ratings: the in-app messages you exchange with your driver, and the ratings and comments you give and receive.
  • Trip share links: if you share a live link to your trip, a record that the link exists and when it expires.

When you drive

  • Driver profile: licence number and expiry, driving experience, city, photo and rating.
  • Vehicle: make, model, year, colour, plate number, battery size, powertrain, class and how you have the car (your own, or Drive to Own).
  • Documents: images of your government ID, driver's licence and, if you drive your own car, its registration, insurance and inspection papers.
  • Location while online: while you are online in Jollo Driver and the app is open, your phone sends its position about every 10 seconds so we can offer you nearby requests and show riders where you are during their trip. We keep only your latest position, not a history of where you have been. Location is not collected while you are offline.
  • Earnings and payouts: your earnings, daily subscription payments and the bank account you are paid out to (stored encrypted; we display only the last four digits).

When you apply for Drive to Own or vehicle financing

  • Your home address, employment status and monthly income; a photo of your ID and a selfie taken in the app; and your guarantor's name, phone number, email, address, relationship to you and, optionally, their ID. Please tell your guarantor that you are sharing their details with us.

Payments

  • If you pay by card, your card is handled by our payment provider. We store only a token from the provider, the card type, its last four digits and its expiry date — never your full card number or CVV.
  • Your Jollo Pay balance and a record of every payment in and out of it.

What we do not collect

  • We do not use advertising trackers, analytics SDKs or crash-reporting services in our apps.
  • We do not read your contacts, and we do not collect biometric data such as your fingerprint or face.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

04How we use your data

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To arrange rides: sending your request to nearby drivers, showing you their prices, connecting you with the driver you choose, and showing each of you where the other is.
  • To take payments, pay drivers, run Jollo Pay and keep accurate financial records.
  • To review drivers before they can drive, and to run Drive to Own and vehicle financing applications.
  • To let you find, reserve and pay for charging, and to buy or finance a vehicle.
  • To send you codes, receipts, trip updates and the notifications you have chosen.
  • To answer your questions, resolve disputes and investigate safety reports.
  • To prevent fraud and misuse, and to keep our services secure and working.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

06Who we share it with

Between riders and drivers

  • A driver who receives your request sees the ride type, payment method, pickup area, destination and trip distance.
  • Once you choose a driver, they see your name, pickup and drop-off and your rating; you see their name, rating, car, plate number and live location until the trip ends.
  • Calls: calling from the app uses your phone's dialler, so the person you call sees your phone number. Use in-app messages if you prefer not to share it.
  • Trip share links show your driver's first name, car, live position, route and arrival time — never your phone number, fare or PIN. A link stops working at the latest 2 hours after the trip ends, and never lasts more than 12 hours.

Service providers who work for us

We use trusted providers who process data only on our instructions:

Others

  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
  • A buyer or successor, if Jollo is ever reorganised, merged or sold, under the same protections as this policy.

07International transfers

Some of our providers store or process data outside the country you live in. When we transfer personal data across borders, we do so with providers who protect it to the standard the law requires, including contractual safeguards where needed.

08How long we keep it

  • Your account — while it is open. If you delete it, see Delete your account.
  • Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.
  • Driver location — only the latest position is kept; each new one replaces the last.
  • Trip share links — at most 12 hours.
  • Trips, payments and Jollo Pay records — kept after an account is deleted for as long as the law requires us to keep financial and transaction records, and to handle disputes and safety reports.
  • Driver documents and Drive to Own applications — kept as long as needed to meet our legal obligations and to administer agreements.

09Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your data — the quickest way is to delete your account in the app;
  • restrict or object to how we use it, including withdrawing consent you gave;
  • send your data to you or another provider in a common format.

Email support@jolloev.com from the email on your account, or tell us the phone number on it, so we can confirm it is you. We answer within the time the law sets. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live; in Nigeria, that is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

10How we protect it

Your phone number, email, date of birth, saved addresses, bank account numbers and application details are encrypted in our database. Connections to our servers are encrypted, sign-in uses one-time codes and device-bound keys, and repeated failed sign-ins lock the account for a while. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the authorities about a breach when the law requires it.

11Children

Jollo is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's data. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

12This website

jolloev.xyz has no sign-in, sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working.

13Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. If a change matters, we will also tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
